it seems that there are a lot of challenges for us FP users to get this to
work.
Here is my issue that I can't seem to break through.
In order to secure my form I have to place it in a secure directory. Change
the link on the site to point to that directory. I did all of that and it
works fine.
But... when you hit the submit button it is directed to a shmtl.exe that I
can't find so the user of the form gets a page not found and I don't receive
any information from the form.
Please Help!

The form itself doesn't have to be in a secure directory.
The file it saves the results to needs to be in a secure directory.

If you are using SSI, the FrontPage extensions have to be installed on
port 443, as well as on port 80. More most websites, the extensions
are only installed on port 80.

Thank you but we are still pulling our hair out. If you know some one that
can do this please have them contact me a.s.a.p. (e-mail address removed)

Your host should install the extensions on port 443, no-one else can
do that.
If they will not do so, then you need a form handler written for
whatever technologies they support - ASP, asp.NET, PHP etc.
