ClickOnce and SSL
1. Yes, it works fine as long as you have the valid certficates stored
in your computer.
2. If there is a warning that prompts you and you just clicked yes
without installing the certificate, then you can not start the
clickonce application.
Click once error will be:
ERROR SUMMARY
Below is a summary of the errors, details of these errors are listed
later in the log.
* Activation of https://pc-xp/tempclient.application resulted in
exception. Following failure messages were detected:
+ Downloading https://pc-xp/tempclient.application did not succeed.
+ The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust
relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.
+ The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation
procedure.
What you have to do are the following:
1. Close IE
2. Browse to the secured site
3. When Security Alert appears, click View Certificate
Install Certificate to the store="Trusted Root Certification
Authorities"
4. You should get a final warning, Click Yes to install the
certificate,
It should say import was successful.
Note: When verifying certificates stored in your computer (via
mmc), it is visible
in the Certificates snap-in - Current User (not in Local
Computer).
Restart IE now and browse for the clikcOnce app
