My computer came with XP Home installed and I do not have
an install CD - a mistake I'll not make again.

Right now all is fine but, if at some future point I
develop a reason to run sre /scannow, can I:

a) in some way refer that command to the partition with
the XP recovery information that came installed in its own
partition on C:?

b) use someone elses XP Home install CD?

c) use someone elses XP Pro install CD?

Thanks

Bill

Do yourself a favor, buy XPPro upgrade and install it. it is not all that
expensive.

.
Yes you can use a borrowed XP CD Home to run system file
checker tool, if and when it ask for one.
