I have a Dell computer that I purchased a year and a half ago. It came with
bundled software including Windows XP Home Edition loaded on it. In
addition, I have a CD labeled "Operating System, Reinstallation CD,
Microsfot Windows XP Home Edition".

I've been trying to download software from the Micorsoft site and have been
able to complete three out of five of their steps. Then I hit a message that
tells me to "Insert the Microsoft 2000 SR-1 Premium disk and click OK."
Well, I haven't been able to find anything on my system or in the CDs that
came with the system that is labeled Microsoft 2000 SR-1 Premium disk.

Can anyone tell me if this is a separate CD that should have come with my
computer? Or what exactly am I looking for? I believe that some months ago,
I tried to download the Premium disk from the Microsoft site and wasn't able
to do so.

Thanks for any pointers.

That sounds like it's looking for a Microsoft *Office* SR1 disk.

What software are you trying to load? That sounds as if it is asking
for the installation CD for Microsoft Office 200 Premium, which is
unlikely to have been included in the provision from Dell. Office is
not part of windows, which has to be bundled (which has become expensive
for the makers) or bought separately
