I have been having problems with my network going down
every day because of the server. My server has Windows
2000 server installed and every hour or so it starts to
bring down the network. I have look for the problem and
have noticed that the sqlservr.exe is causeing a lot of
cpu and network activity. When I disabled the network card
on the server the rest of the computers start to have
Internet access again. This is when I have to restart my
server and everything is back to normal until it does it
again. If you have any suggestions please replay.

Thank-you

Jose

I had the same problem not long ago (within this year).
It turned out to be a virus that jammed the network up.
Machines vulnerable are Windows Server 2000. I can't
remember which one it was. Update your virus def. and do
a scan. Good Luck! By the way way, if this helps, update
your windows security patches!

I would check to see what service pack level SQL Server
is running. This could be the old SQL Slammer worm if you
have not yet updated SQL Server to SP3 or SP3a.
