Hi

how much does (aprox) SQLSe cost? Where can it be purchased?

thanks,
Finn J Johnsen

If you use SqlCe standalone it is free. If you connect to a back end SQL
Server then you need to purchase client access licenses for as many clients
as you connect to the server. The SqlCe runtimes are shipped with Visual
Studio 2003 so you can deploy them with your applications. More details on
licensing here:-

Will these rules be the same with version 3.0?

Thore,

I have not heard any hint that this will be different for SQL Server Mobile
Edition on CE devices although there will be new rules since SQL Mobile can
run on desktop machines too. The current licensing restrictions apply to
SQL Server and not to SQL CE - it's SQL Server that needs CALs for each
client device (or per-processor licensing) and not Sql Ce.
