I can't install SQL server in my vista home basic. one of it's problem is: I
can't make the MSSQLSERVER (in SQL configuring manager) to be start. what can
I do?

If you're trying to install the server versions of the solutions instead of
the workstation versions, then they are not going to work.

You should just download the SQL Server 2005 Express which is for a
workstation and use that.
