Are there any good resources out there dealing with ACCESS SQL syntax,
datatypes, etc
I need to do everything through SQL statements including Altering and
Creating tables. MSACCESS has next to no help available for this.

Access Help has all the help you require. Look in the Help Contents -
Microsoft JET SQL Reference & its sub chapters. This assumes that you
loaded ALL the help files when you installed Office | Access.
