is it possivle to startup an compact of an SQL CE Server
programmatically ?

Try something like this:

SqlCeEngine e = new SqlCeEngine(connectionStr­ing);
e.Compact("Data Source=" + tempFile);
e.Dispose();

File.Delete(dbFile);
File.Move(tempFile, dbFile);
