SQL 2005 Express Vs SQL 2005 Standard

We are considering deploying BCM 07, migrating from existing Access data.

We presently have 62K contact records in the access database, our testbed is:

XPSP2
dual core 2.33Mhz
4GB RAM

After importing the 62K contacts into the BCM database searching takes in excess of 10 seconds when compared against <1 second in access.

Before we take this further I would like to know if SQL 2005 standard edition should provide better response times?
