There seems to be some confusion about an anti-spyware program out there
called SpywareDetector at www.spywaredetector.net and
www.spywaredetector.com. Some info sources say it's OK. Some say it's not.
CNET says it's OK.

Most of the time (I've had it several weeks) I can't get through to their
server. It keeps declaring it has cleaned out a spyware item, but it's
right back (I'm talking about totally off line) as soon as I reboot.

To me? It's malware.

The first link to me to a page which was advertising stuff that I personally
wouldn't trust. Any program that will scan for free but awaits payment
before it will remove is a scam.

NOD32 (my virus scanner) blocked the second link and would not let me in.
Needless to say, I did not close down NOD32 or any other security program in
order that I might see the web page.

If you want a good spyware remover, use Malwarebytes but scan in safe mode
first. It pays to run Disk Cleanup before scanning such that temporary
Internet files are removed. They can take an eternity to check..
