Randy, since last week when there were server problems we couldn't
access and navigate these newsgroups (web based). We're still getting
errors on page , signing in is not working right - IE cannot display this
page
The url that i use to come here has the NG Tree on the left and half the
times you can't expand the plus's or the tree doesn't show up at all.
Sometimes when you jump from Defender to Home Users or a different
NG you get a server error page . A real pain in the butt is when you
finally get signed in and then you either answer a post or make a new
one and hit post a new sign-in windows opens up to sign-in again.

I've even wiped my favorites clean and went to the sites again using
google to save to favorites again and that doesn't fix anything.
So i don't want to ramble on anymore but navigating is still a
little broken - just wondering if you know anything to offer ? Ron

BTW, Web site busy trying to send this right now. Here goes third
attempt.

This is unfortunate to hear that the Web-based interface is not working.
I do not an answer for you how to fix it or what the situation is.
Have you considered using your email client such Outlook Express to view these
NGs?

Thanks Randy, but no i prefer the web based over OE anyday
I was just hoping to hear from you that it's still being worked on
and that it wasn't going to be left like this. Take Care Ron

Since I'm *currently* not an MVP, I'm not privy to what MS is going on the
Web interface, Ron - I'm sure they are aware.

Good luck with it and please keep us posted on any issues.

Randy

Thank you Ron. I also have been having a horrid time trying to post here the
last 2 weeks. It took me 3 tries to get this to post..hope it goes. :-)

I use OE also. However, earlier this morning, when I clicked on this group
in OE, I received a message that the server was not available.

I closed out of OE and tried again, and everything was fine after that.

I have a method to fix that, Alan.
Open OE > Tools > Accounts > News > Highlight your Windows Defender
Set-Up > Properties > Advanced Tab > Server Time-Out > move the slider to more
than three minutes, that should allow OE enough time to poll the NG with bombing OE.
