Spywarebegone

I purchased this product from spywarebegone.com, after
finding it on the spywareguide.
I feel it has served me well and recommended it to a
colleague.
However when he downloaded this package it crashed his
computer and he has now been told he needs to wipe his
hard drive. Is Spywarebegone a bogus packaag, should I de
install it??

Please assist.
