I have tried every suggestion I have found thorughout these newsgroups, yet
my MSAS screen is still blank and will not allow me to do much of anything.

My system:
Dell Latitude D800
Windows XP Pro SP2, all latest patches.

Things I've tried:
Reregistering the vb6 runtimes...
Downloading and installing the newest VB6 runtimes.
Uninstall, delete Spyware directory, ran ccleaner.
Deleted all temp files, caches, registry entries....

Please help!

Thanks,

Matt

We've had a number of this kind of issue posted recently. My sense of this
is that there is a software conflict of some sort, and I've suggested, in
other threads, using MSCONFIG to turn off all third-party services and
startup items to see whether that enables the user to spot what the conflict
is.

That'd be my suggestion to you as well. This is a somewhat time-consuming
process, I'm afraid--and I wouldn't be surprised if this conflict wasn't
present in beta2, which should be released later this year---so you can
choose to spend time on this now and have the protection (if you can solve
this one) or wait.

Are you also running CounterSpy?

CounterSpy is designed around the Giant AntiSpyware engine. MS bought out
Giant Company to acquire Giant AntiSpyware.

These two programs are known to conflict with one another.
