Yes, prevention is a good thing. Another app to help prevent
"infection" is WinPatrol <http://www.winpatrol.com/> - as it monitors
startup applications - warns if any added. Some, but not all spyware
loads at startup - thus Winpatrol (and similar) useful also in this
context.

And while you're at it, get SpywareGuard, by the author of
SpywareBlaster. This is a real-time monitor that warns you if
anything funny is being attempted, and allows you to opt out.

If it seems like overkill to use all these programs simultaneously,
get over it. Each has deficiencies. By using them all, you cover
almost all the bases.

No, I don't mind a bit, if they are tiny freeware programs like these!

Well...I just might if there's any processor & room left on my HD once I
add all these to my AVs, Firewalls, Spam blockers, History washers, anti
Trojans, back-ups etc. :-(
