Everytime I try to launch the program, it just hangs at the Splash screen.

It eventually launches, but that hang during start up at Splash screen was

Just a hunch: you're internet connection is extremely slow or you have an
extremely high latency? Or maybe you're connected through a classic modem
and it auto-dails to check for updates during the splash screen?
