How often does MSFT Spyware update? (daily, weekly,
monthly, other)

Do individuals need to update it, or does it
automatically update?

How does MSFT know it is up-to-date on the latest spyware
that is out there?

If you have it configured to Autoupdate then it will
otherwise double click your desktop icon to open the main
GUI and then click file\check for updates on the top left
of the toolbar. Updates occur randomly and I don't thing
there is a particular schedule. So far I've seen only one
update since the release of MSAS. This is a Beta and the
general public is helping by sending in spyware reports as
well as posting known bugs. MS then reads these posts, and
makes any changes needed, if the post has sufficient
information, to make a credible decision, as to the exact
nature of the bug.TTFN

As yet, there is no fixed schedule. There have been several updates during
the course of this beta, but the intervals haven't been predictable.

There is a feature in the program to set automatic update to a specific
fixed time. In addition, you can go to File, Check for updates, and update
"manually."

Part of the strength of this product is the peer feedback and submission of
reports via Tools, Suspected Spyware Report.

This is certainly not their only way of assessing what is out there and
whether they are meeting the need to deal with it, but it is an important
mechanism.

Interesting responses from everyone.

Thanks to MSFT and the tech community for going after
Spyware.
