After installing spyware doctor keyboard stopped responding in Windows
XP logon.
What could I do? HELP!?

Additional Details:

IN SAFE MODE KEYBOARD DOESN'T RESPOND!

IT'S A LAPTOP. I'VE SEEN THIS BEFORE IN MY DESKTOP, BUT HAD TO ERASE
ALL. CAN"T DO THAT! I REMEMBER IT WAS RIGHT AFTER SPYWARE DOCTOR IN
BOTH CASES.

thanks

No need to shout, we can hear you just fine if you type in mixed case.

1. Try attaching an external keyboard. If it works, log in and uninstall
Spyware Doctor.

2. If the external keyboard doesn't work, try booting into Safe Mode Command
Prompt. If this works, do:

c:\Windows\System32\restore\rstrui.exe [enter]

to start System Restore. Restore to a point before you installed Spyware
Doctor.

Hi,
thanks for the reply and sorry about my caps.
I was able to enter Safe Mode Command Prompt, but the keyboard still
locks.

I think restoring, the way you suggested should work. Is there another
way of getting to restore?

thanks

I had Spyware Doctor on one of my computers. Good point: it does chase down
much malware. Bad point: it interfered with a number of applications and
acted as though it was some kind of virus. It has now been permanently
uninstalled!

Have you tried with an external keyboard? The only other way I know of to
run System Restore outside the operating system is with something like ERD
Commander. The most recent versions can do a System Restore, but they are
very expensive. You might check around with the local professionals to see
if they have this or similar software.

The definition of insanity is to keep trying the same thing over and
over
with the same old bad results.

One time it happened after Avast installation and Spyware Doctor.

Second time with Spyware Doctor.

Still unresolved.

Next time dont fall for false advertising and use a better, free,
anti-spyware app.
