Running xppro, sp2 3.2 meg machine.
one program I have loads very slooooly, like minute 19 seconds if
AntiSypware beta 1 is enabled.

It load almost instantly after disabling Antispyware Beta 1.

This is the only program I have that reacts this way.
The following is from Advanced Tools System Explorers, Running Processes

WinWarbler
File name: WinWarbler411.exe

Description: Unavailable
Publisher: AA6YQ
File path: C:\WW2\WinWarbler411.exe
File version: 4.1.0.1
Copyright: Dave Bernstein -- All Rights Reserved

Technical Details:
Original file name: WinWarbler.exe
MD5: c670cd716a3317a1e4a197ef1471e13d

There is no data in the "Learn more about this application"

I can't find a way to disable inspection or whatever is delaying the start
of the program.
I assume it's inspecting the code for spyware, how do I turn it off for this
application.

Please and thank you.

You can shut down Microsoft Antispyware by right-clicking the notification
area icon and choosing shut down.

I don't have a better suggestion, I'm afraid.

You might also post this in appcompat, and specify a URL if there's an
online source for this file, so the developers can check it out.

I know I can disable Antispy, that's how I found that it was the program
causing the slow down.
I assume that Antispy has no data on the program and is checking all the
code to make sure it's clean.

I would think that once it goes through the process, it would pass it
automatically unless changed.

What is appcompat???
I will do that when I find out.

microsoft.private.security.spyware.appcompat is another of these
groups--specifically for reporting compatibility issues with particular
applications.

there have been some reports of a long lag--a few seconds--when opening
Office applications via double-clicking a data file--say, a Word document,
for example.

That's a long lag, and I don't know what to suggest accounts for it. If you
turn off your antiviruses real-time protection and leave Microsoft
Antispyware running, what happens, in terms of this lag?

I posted tot he other group and got a reply that he will test it.

I have Microsoft firewall, Norton antivirus and MS antispyware.
All running obviously.

I tried turning one off at a time and it made no difference until I disabled
the Antispyware....

Then I tried leaving Antispyware enabled and turned BOTH the others off.
No cigar...

If Antispyware is running..Winwarbler http://www.qsl.net/winwarbler/ takes
around 30 seconds or more to load.
Turn if off and it is almost instant.

We will see what they find.

And now that you mentioned it...a couple of my Excel files seem to load
slowly...I'll test that.

This slow start up occurred on two machines, so I can pretty well eliminate
machine specific.

Thanks--I've passed the info on, but wouldn't expect to hear anything back
quickly. As I mentioned in the other group--retesting when beta2 appears
would be in order.
