Yeap, but it still doesn't solve the Sun Java 1.5.0_06-b05 BHO slowdown opening
IE, so don't worry about testing that.

Hi Dave,
Being an IE MVP, I'm not aware of this problem.
Could you cite a URL or two?
You are speaking of the current J2SE installation -

PM me via CC if you like.

Silj

Hi Randy;
My posting is here in announcements:
Subject: SpySweeper 4.5 with Sun Java 1.5.0_06 & IE6 slow startup
Date: Wed, 7 Dec 2005 01:24:00 -0800

and there's a CastleCops thread that originally alerted me as well:
http://castlecops.com/t140290-SS_vs_Sun_Java_1_5_0_6.html

This SpySweeper conflict with the current J2SE installation drove me nuts for a
week before I was helped by MichaelJH and siliconman01 over there, so I'm
keeping this site updated on it also. Many of us use SpySweeper as well as
MSAS.

So it's an issue with SpySweeper and the current J2SE, has anyone alerted Webroot
Dave?

Yes, MichaelJH and both Blubby and Gary from over here opened problem reports
with Webroot who finally acknowledged it as their problem, and are actively
working on a fix. The workaround is easy, disable the Sun BHO. MichaelJH
indicates that encountering a site that requires it results in a warning and
will give you the chance to enable it temporarily, though I have not encountered
that personally.
