Does anyone here use spysweeper 3.5, just want to know if
it work under limited account? and are there any
compatibility issue with MSAS?

Spysweeper is actually a pretty good product. I can't think of a reason why
Spysweeper wouldn't run from a limited account. There may be a problem if
it tries to fix an issue and the account doesn't have appropriate
permissions to perform the task. It plays very well with MS AntiSpyware as
both tools provide functionality that the other doesn't. I always recommend
that people use at least two spyware products since there are no common
definitions of spyware or scanning behavior. Also spyware companies do not
share information the way virus companies do.

I guess because Microsoft AntiSpyware beta 1 does not work under limited
accounts, it has made you think differently about all AntiSpyware utilities
and how they work.

The limited accounts issue with MSAS will be fixed by beta 2.

From Steve Dodson:
You have a limited user account running the application looking for spyware
on all files and folders. This includes the administrator account which
limited users may not be able to access. So we have to approach this
carefully in order to remove the spyware from all locations, but also
preserve file and folder permissions and access.

In short, we are addressing this for a future release, but it involves some
major coding and testing.

(real-time protectiong)preventing spyware from
automatically installing itself without a user knowing it
is what I'm looking for and specially protecting every
window account specially with limited account.

I too have Spy Sweeper 3.5 installed on a Dell Dimension 8200 computer
(windows XP sp2) and was also wondering about compatibility issues with
MSAS. Both have real time monitoring features and I wonder what would
happen if both found a specific malware to remove or to try and stop an
installation, at the same time?? Appreciate any clarification for a newbie.
Thanks, Sam.

Hi

Only one antispyware program running for real time protection, this is
the same as for antivirus programs.

So remove real time protection from Spysweeper and use it
for extra manual scans.

Many thanks for your reply, Sam.
