Can anyone help??

Yesterday I downloaded (and paid for) Spynomore in a spyware panic!!

While mentioned on the sticky, I've followed the link and they say the new version is OK.

However, I'm a bit uncomfortable with it.

Question is:- do I uninstall it or is it really not that bad?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Note on SpyNoMore: SpyNoMore was listed on this page because of concerns with false positives. Testing with the latest version of the program indicates that the problems with earlier versions have been satisfactorily resolved. Thus, we can no longer consider SpyNoMore to be "rogue/suspect" anti-spyware.
... there are better, more trusted, free, anti-spyware programs. I personally would not give you tuppence for that one. JMHO.

Pick one of these ...

oh, welcome to the forums. ;)

Cheers

I've already got Spybot S & D, might add another to that just in case...

So shall I leave Spynomore where it is (as reminder not to be so hasty and to throw away my money) or get rid?

Whatever it was sent itself onwards via one of our Hotmail accounts so I'm in trouble with some friends and family.... I guess I tell them to download too?

I can't really comment on Spynomore ... while I do, on occasion, try out "new" to me anti-spyware, I tend to stick with tried & trusted methods.

You got caught ... you ain't the first ... I don't trust any IM. ;)

You could download HijackThis and post a log here, we'll take a look and make sure you ain't harboring any other "nasties" on your PC ... :thumb:

I think I've done this...

I'm not convinced I'm savvy enough to do this, so do let me know when to stop being a pain in butt!! :o

Does this look right anyway?

I appreciate any help.

If you become a "pain-in-the-but" I will simply ignore you. ;)

Your Log is clean of any Nasties ... there are some entries I would "fix" (cleanup) but there is really no need if you don't feel confident in doing so.

There is an entry in your Log ... we know it as MyWebSearch ... that was/is considered a nastie ... Ask Jeeves is using it ... I would strongly recommend you un-install that. Go get Google toolbar if you need a search bar.
