Why does Spybot find software that MS Anti-spyware
misses? Is there a way to set the MS program to catch
those programs...if not, why use it?

First - search the newsgroup, then ask a question, please.
Second - because in its current Beta1 release, MSAS does not look for
cookies.
Third - no software has 100% efficiency in detecting malware.
 
In the Beta1 version, the program doesn't go into the cookie jar, nor does
it chase data miner objects.
