I have been running the Beta 1 software in parallel with
Spybot search and destroy for about 3 months. The
pprogram is set to run a scan automatically, 7 days a
week. In that time The Beta program caught 3 spyware
programs and failed to detect more than a 100 instances of
6 or 8 of the most common spyware such as double click,
adware etc.

I like the user interface and the program features but the
heart of the program needs serious work before it is ready
for prime time.

It is well documented that Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta 1 does not detect
cookies. Things like "DoubleClick" are cookies. Cookies are passive items
of text, and cannot harm your PC, its Operating System, or settings. MSAS
concentrates on detecting malicious programs, as you acknowledge it found.

If you eliminate all cookies from the comparisons, how then do the two
products compare?
