Is running the Spybot TeaTimer and SDHelper necessary with Netscape 7.1?

SD helper, is a BHO I believe, it runs in IE only.

Spybot teatimer scans process that start up on your computer for matches to
malware in it's databae (on top of flagging generic changes to IE browse
setting, startups etc)

It certainly is reasonable to use it along side any browser.

I run WinPatrol and have Tea Timer turned off because I feel it is
redundant. Am I doing the right thing?

Thank-you.

hmm Didn't I answer this one before to another Mike?

They both have their plus and minuses see
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=32823 for a comparison of
what registry key locations they monitor.

So it's up to you.

But one thing that tea-timer has that Winpatrol lacks is that Tea-timer
has specific signatures for thousands of malware, so it will occasionally
be able to tell you not only that something has changed but also
indentify the malware.

Winpatrol doesn't do this I believe.

Thank-you.

Mike
