Spybot - S & D Uninstall

I would like to uninstall the program but am at a loss on how to do
so. My OS is XP. Control Panel>Add or Remove won't do it. It actually
starts the program, something I haven't run into before. I can find
nothing there regards removal. Your comments would be appreciated.

You could try the start>programs>spybot>and try the uninstal there.If that
doesnt do it , maybe reinstall spybot and see if it "repairs" the uninstall
function?

There's an explaination of Spybot S & D removal and a .reg file you can
download to help cleanup. Maybe htat will help.
 
I largely followed your instructions and got it uninstalled. I did
find it in add/remove and did the so-called remove. I downloaded and
ran the .reg file. Then I did a search on spybot*.* and found about
15mb of files which I deleted.

Seems a lot of files. My system still has Spybot S&D installed and I have
just 14 files matching spybot*.*, for a total of a little over 4Mb.
