If this should be in a different community, please advise.
In SpyBot's Tools-System Internals there is a provision for checking paths,
etc.. I've read their Help and Info sections re this, but am wondering if
anyone here has used Spybot to repair any of these discrepancies - for
instance, Wrong App Paths and any of the other things it finds ? What
actually does it do if you tell it to Fix-it ?
All programs, etc. seem to be working fine, although some things seem to
load very slowly, but the scan finds a bunch of stuff and I'm wondering if I
should let it fix at least the Wrong Paths. Using V1.4 and it's up to date,
and set to Immunize if that makes a difference.
Anyone have words of wisdom to offer ? Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks.

I am not using SpyBot currently but it sounds like it scans for registry
issues and gives you the option to fix registry problems or delete orphan
registry entries. Usually when a program offers to repair such there is an
option to backup the settings so that you can undo the changes if you find
some reason to do such at a later time though I never needed to with any
such program. If that is the case I would allow it to do it's thing and
backup the settings. If everything still runs slow you may have other issues
such as a virus or possibly too little RAM or hard drive space. Be sure to
defrag your hard drive if you have not done that it a while. Open Windows
Explorer, select your drive, right click and select properties - tools -
defrag now while logged on as a local administrator. --- Steve

Thanks, Steven, for taking the time to reply. Before going to the SpyBot
Forums, I was curious to know if any of the Experts in these MS groups had
experience - good or bad - with that SpyBot tool. Thanks for the other good
reminders also. Machine does only have 512 RAM, but HD is about 90% free and
is defraged about once a month - whether it says it needs it or not! Just
wondered if clearing up some of those "Wrong App Path" entries would be
beneficial..
Thanks Again.
