when I run spybot I get 5 entries of DSO exploit showing registry change. I
click on repair and it says repair completed. if I run spybot again
immediately, I get the same results. anyone know why?

Some things cannot be removed until you reboot.(because they are running)
try reboot and run it again....
if you did you may need some manual way of removing it.
What is the spybot that you are blessed with?

AFAIK this is a long standing spybot bug. If you're up to date with
patches you are safe from the DSO exploit anyway.

This is a known glitch in Spybot, but your system is not compromised. It
essentially is a false-positive. If you check over at alt.privacy.spyware,
there are many threads regarding this issue with multiple solutions for you
to use, including, a "beta" version of Spybot that has been made available
which seems to correct this problem. Sorry, I don't have a link to the
download, but the version number ends with a "tx".

Which version of spybot are you using?
If you have version 1.3.1 TX it should fix DSO problems - it did on my
machine !
