You don't really have a problem unless you "purchase" their software! The
threats are fake!!! They're after your credit card information.

If you bought one of these products, you better contact your bank or credit
card company and report it as fraud.

There are programs that can remove Spyaxe, all of which are free.

Use noahdfear's SmitFraud and SpyAxe removal tool.

Nick Skrepetos, author of SuperAdBlocker, says that his program will
also remove SpyAxe. There is a free, full-functional 15-day trial
available. The trial can be uninstalled after malware removal.

Lavasoft says its most recent updates to Ad-aware (free) will also
remove SpyAxe.

My computer is infected with the Smitfraud (Spyaxe) virus/spyware. I have
tried every remedy out there. I spent 8 hours yesterday researching and
banging my head against the wall. The noahdfear fix did not work, I bought
Ad-aware (it found it, but did not remove it.), I tried three other
commercial and free malware removal programs to no avail and now my computer
will no longerallow me to boot into safe mode. I don't think the
antivirus/spyware/malware community is taking this one very seriously. Its
pernicious and not easily fixed. Ive heard of two other people that have it
on their systems since yesterday.

I sure would appreciate it if Microsoft would meet this one head on and find
a solution that non-professionals could implement.
