Sprint PPC6700 - no ID?

Hi,

The Microsoft GetDeviceID() method runs great on everything I've seen.
However, I've just had a user report that the new Sprint PPC-6700 reports
0000-0000-0000-... (all zeros). Any ideas? Anyone have such a device that
is willing to debug the method?

Thanks,

Hilton

I had the same problem on a Intermec CN2. I solved the problem with I
generating a GUID wich I store in XML file. That solved my problem. In
our system the deviceid is an important key.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

This is really concerning. I was under the assumption that all Pocket PCs
built in the last few years have a UUID. We absolutely need the UUID, now
we don't have one? I'm sure many people will be affected by this, so if
anyone has a solution, or anything to add to help me/us understand this, I'd
really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Hilton
