Hello I am new at Excel for the most part and I want to design a spreadsheet that will help me figure out the cost of a product I make. I need it to be able to work with different options. I have seen some done, but not quite what I want. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Hi,

Could you please be more specific? What do you want the spreadsheet to do?
You need to spell it out in explicit detail. What do you mean by
"different options"? Can you point us at one of the examples you want
modified?

You are pretty light on details about your needs.

Excel can do what you want, but it and the rest of us require some input from
you.

Basically, to figure out the cost of something you need quantities or volumes
and units of same. Then you would supply how many of each or per unit.

i.e. cost of concrete for a foundation.

cost of cement/yard + cost of gravel/per yard + number of yards = total
cost.(and that's without a truck and driver)

Thank you Gordan and Jonathon. I finally figured it out on my own. What I wanted to make was a spreadsheet for figuring cost of materials ie: a case of jars is 22.30 and there's 24 in the case so it would be $0.93 per jar and so on. I wanted to have a breakdown of a group of items. It's a bit sloppy, but it does what I need. Thanks anyways
