Spreadsheet launches in IE window

This isn't really cross posting because the other NG sent me here.

As I asked in the OE group:

When I include a link in an email (OE6), the spreadsheet opens in an IE
window. How can I get it to launch Excel instead? Spreadsheets launch
Excel normally from windows explorer so I don't think it's an association
problem.

Good question to ask in the Excel newsgroup. OE has no control over how
associated files behave once they are called up. The Excel group
regulars can probably give you a quick answer.

I'm going to post your answer in the IE/OE group so they know about it.
After all it does involve IE.
