I recently cleaned up computer back to factory setting,to
get rid of junk icons etc,but the spreadsheets i had on
floppy disc can no longer be accessed? And i cannotfind
spreadsheet on PC to start new ones to put on floppy.Any
ideas please,I have work to do,and getting mad,

You have to install Microsoft Excel in order to use spreadsheets.
Windows XP is an "Operating System" and does not include Excel.

You need to install Microsoft Office. Windows does not supply Office
(or Excel), it is a separate purchase and installation. If you restored
factory installation with restore disks, the process formatted the HD,
destroying any saved files and user applications, like Office (or
Excel).

Q

You must reinstall the application program you used to create the
spreadsheets.

IMHO, anyone who saves important files only on a floppy disk is just asking
for trashed data. This would even be worse than using floppys for backup.
Invest in a flash drive of some type if you need to move data from one
location to another or if you need to keep prying eyes away from the data.

Floppy disk are notoriously unreliable. Back when only floppys were
available for transfer of data, I would routinely make 2 or three copies of
one file and transport them in my car in different locations. Most times at
least one floppy had garbage on it when I got to my destination.

Not to mention the *fact* that Office files stored on floppies
invariably become corrupted when someone tries to open from the floppy.
Floppies should be prohibited in any business environment.
