Hello,
I could use some input here as everything I've tried so
far hasn't worked. Here's the situation:
I have WIN 2000 Pro. I have a laserjet and a Zebra LP2844
thermal printer that I use to print my fedex labels off
fedex.com's ship manager program. I haven't had any
problems in the past going between the two printers.

The other day I started getting the following error
message whenever I tried to print from the fedex ship
manger program to my Zebra: "Spoolsv.exe has generated
errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to
restart the program. An error log is being created."
When I look in my printers file, I notice that all the
printers have been eliminated and when I click on "Add
Printer" I get the message "Our of Resources...." What
I've then done is to delete the 2 or 3 SHD files in
System32/spool/printer, reboot, and then all the printers
are back. However, when I try to print again to the
Zebra, the same problem happens.

I spoke with fedex.com customer support at length, at the
end of which they determined that it must be a Windows
problem and basically they hung up on me. With their
help, I had already reinstalled JAVA VW 1.4.1_02, deleted
my cookies, & reinstalled the Zebra driver. All to no
avail.

So that's my situation. This is a real disaster for me as
I run my own company and desperately need to print the
labels so I can ship tomorrow. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thank you.

.
I am having the same issue with a client of mine.
Although he doesn't have a Zebra printer but other than
that the same issue applies. In addition, when I try to
restart the spooler service, I get the following error:

Error 1068 - Dependancy Services of group failed to start.

I discovered that the dependent service is PMObserv.
When I attempt to start this service I get this error
message:

Error 2: the system cannont find the file specified.

The file named in the service's properties is
C:\winnt\system32\PMObserv.exe.

Have you resolved the issue yet, or has anyone else found
a resolution?

regarding error 1068 on spooler startup

in Control Panel /Admin tools / Services, open the properties of the print
spooler

remove the dependency to PMObserv. Error 2 is ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND so most
likely someone deleted the installation of the pmobserv application and it's
uninstall routine did not remove the dependency.

By default the spooler depends on Remote Procedure Call (RPC)

I also have a zebra LP2844 also doing the exact same thing, luckily I have 2 others, on the network and 1 is a SATO that does not fail! The other 4 Zebras I own are ferfect, but my hardware support reckons this is a faulty Zebra file that may need a patch fix. I can swap them and see if it recurs..will keep you posted..he reckons Zebra website is place to go
