Do you have more than one printer? I had the same
problem, and the cause turned out to be that I had an HP
and an Epson printer both with USB connections.
Apparently there is some incompatibility between HP and
Epson, and the solution is to connect one of them to a
parallel port and the other to USB. If that isn't the
case, then unfortunately, I don't know the answer.
