Im trying to put a canned statement together for people calling my company
who receive a spoofed email address with a virus. I would like it to
explain to them how spoofing addresses works and how to read the header. Is
there anything out there so I dont have to reinvent the wheel

thanks

Many ISP's have such explanations on their help / support / FAQs
/ whatever pages. Mine has but it's "members only." Try yours.

Does this help?

I don't think reading email headers will help the average person.

Just simply explain that the email worms infect a machine and reads the
address book, and sends emails to those addresses while faking the from
address with other addresses in that book. The email didn't actually come
from that person, just another identifiable sender.
