Spontaneous Shutdown in Movie Maker

I am having a problem whenever I load a project that I
have saved that contains video. When I load the project
and try to click the play button the program just
spontaneously shuts down. However, when I load a project
that just has an audio file in it I am able to play it.
If anyone has any information or is experiencing problems
of a similar intensity, please email me at
(e-mail address removed). Hopefully someone has a solution, or
we can all figure this thing out. Thanks.

I've determined that it's not the video, because I have
other projects with video that open fine. It is,
however, a problem with titles and credits that I have in
projects. Whenever I open one with titles or credits
then movie maker shuts down automatically. Is there a
way to reinstall movie maker or the creativity pack or
something along those lines? Thanks.

I looked through the acceleration and codec page, but
none of it seems to be my problem. Only recently has
movie maker 2 started to shutdown when I open a project
with titles or credits. A couple of days ago, it worked
fine and I haven't changed anything to my system other
than downloading a windows xp security update from
microsoft a couple days back. Any ideas? Thanks.

Ok, but before I do I was reading some of your other
posts and it seems as if many people are having the same
problem as I have been having. Did any of theirs get
fixed and if so how do you tell them to do it? Thanks.

I'm sorry, I don't keep notes or score things like that. The ones with the
problems would need to respond to you.

Some follow my comment about a restore with a note saying that they can't do
a restore for some reason, like they turned off the feature. It's the
quickest, easiest thing to do when your system was working fine a couple
days ago. I do a restore for any and all reasons about 5 times a week. A
restore can always be undone - it's a great feature of XP.

Those who can't restore have to go forward to resolve the issue. And reasons
for the issues are different, but the primary ones are already listed on the
page about acceleration and codecs.

Most who say they read it, and it doesn't seem to be their problem, come
back later and say that it was their problem.
