SPN registration error

I keep getting an error in the Event Viewer referencing
the SPN name. This is the message:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: NTDS Replication
Event Category: Replication
Event ID: 1411
Date: 11/25/2003
Time: 9:19:22 AM
User: Everyone
Computer: SERVERGV
Description:
The Directory Service failed to construct a mutual
authentication Service Principal Name (SPN) for server
servergv. The call is denied. The error was:
A Service Principal Name (SPN) could not be constructed
because the provided hostname is not in the necessary
format.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
