So I saved my project to disk, 13 GB , and then used MYDVD to get to a disk.
Everything fine so far. But now I want to take my 13gb DV-AVI clip and save
it to Multiple DVD's (4.7) with out compressing anymore. Is there a program
that will split this into 3 parts, without any parts being dependent on the
others. I know I could go into movie maker and trim then convert, then trim
again, but I thought there would be an easier way.

Thanks!

No not that I know of. If you do not compress to MPeg for example then its
a no-go...splitting it would be the easiest way to preserve the quality. I
am not sure what you are thinking of when you refer to one clip not being
dependent to another. Movie Maker would be my choice for splitting an AVI
file that was created with either Movie Maker or any similar product.
Professional quality AVI files use no compression at all and would not be
suitable in Movie Maker as Movie Maker would compress them to the DV-AVI
format

Using MM is fine, I just created 3 projects and convert one at a time. I was
thinking it would be easier if there was a utility that would break the
larger clips into 3 smaller one's in one action with out all the manual
intervention with MM. What I meant by clips being dependent, is that I found
one utility (dsplit) that will break up the file, but you need to put it back
together before you can view.

Thanks

Hello,

Ah ha...I see what you mean about that utility. Winzip'ing it would have
also produced the same result. You could also have used the windows backup
utility...just backup the one file...but again you would have to recombine
the parts to get at the whole thing
