Split clips won't play

This problem has been driving me crazy. When I split a WMV clip, it will no
longer play. When I recombine the clips, everything is fine again. This has
happened on two different computers, but I can find no info on this problem.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?
 
Problem solved. I disabled direct draw and direct 3d accelerations in my
video card properties (troubleshooting tab, acceleration slider). Everything
is better.

Might be a good idea to search the support
website of your video adapter's mfg. for updated
video drivers.
