Does anyone know if there's any way for you to split the
audio away from the video in moviemaker? So that you have
a file of the audio separate from the video. Thanks.

Cant you just drag the entire clip (Audio and Video
Included) into the narrative or music track? Im pretty
sure you can. Give it a try. It should just allow you to
drag the audio then you can edit the length.

Hi there,

If you are hoping to create two files on your hard drive, one for video and
one for Audio, then the answer is no.

If you want to create an audio only file on your hard drive, then try using
the sound recorder that comes with XP...simply play the video and at the
same time record the sound.

In a similar manner you can create a video only file simply by muting the
sound track and getting MM2 to create a file on disk...because you have
muted the sound, you will have a video only file.

Hi John,

If you put the video clip only on the audio/music track and then save the
movie, it'll make a WMA file instead of a WMV.

Hi there,

Yes, I was thinking of a WAV file, for some reason WMA format did not come
to mind at all.

Can you do it with Windows Media Stream Editor?
