Split a presentation

I have a presentation consisting of about 200 slides. For some
presentations, I want to use just the first half, and for others I want to
use the second half. How do I split my original presentation into two parts
and save them separately?

Hi Jeff

What I would do is open the presentation and immediately press F12 (save as)
and give the file a new name. Then in slide sorter view I would select slide
1, hold shift & select slide 100 (the end of presentation 1) then hit the
delete key, save, close. Open the original presentation again and repeat,
this time selecting the 2nd half of the presentation.

Jeff,

Create two Custom Shows using your existing 200 slides. Go to Slide Show >
Custom Show. Click New. Name the Custom Show (e.g., First Half). From the
Left Pane, select the slides you want to be in the First Half. Click OK.

Repeat for second half of presentation.

When you are ready to run one of the two halfs, Go to Slide Show > Set up
Show. Under Show Slides, select the First Half or Second Half (or whatever
you named them).

What's great about this approach is that you'll always have a master file.
When you make changes to the master file, those changes will automatically be
reflected in the Custom Shows. You can changes the slides contained in each
Custom Show at any time.
