Hi.
I have followed methods of changing most splash screens fom this list but
would like to remove the blue screen with the word "welcome" at start and the
screen "Login Off" when going to standby.
Any suggestions would help please.
I have already included a bit map in the Controp Panel wallpaper reg as
advised.
Thanks
Graham.

Try adding this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system\

DisableStatusMessages REG_DWORD <0 - False 1 -True >

Hi Sean.
I have that reg setting already! set to 1 to stop pop-ups from a previous
post.
PS. Like your books.

Graham.

Try disabling the Windows Friendly Logon under the Windows Logon Standard
component. With the registry, this should hide the logon screens.

Hi.
Maybe there was some mis-understanding.
It's not the log on screen I want to remove.
I am using Explorer shell. My boot.bmp and a bmp for wallpaper appears but
then I get a blue screen with the words Welcome before by desktop wallpaper.
When I go to switch off or standby I get another screen, blue with the
Windows logo and the words Loging off. These are the 2 screens I am trying to
remove. I would also like to remove the task bar completly including the
start button as these appear until my application takes full screen. I have
set hide task bar but still get the above. I am also getting popup ballons
which I also cannot stop even after reg setting.
Thanks. Regards
Graham.

try this, goto windows logon component->setting->uncheck "show welcome
to windows screen" or uncheck show friendly winlogon

jet

If you remove friendly winlogon you then the name/password dialog displayed.
I am looking to change the second welcome and log off screen with a bit map.
Regards
Graham

In answer to one of your problems, you can add the automatic logon
component to save having to enter a name/password during boot.
