I recently installed a Creative Sound Blaster X-fi Xtreme Audio sound
card on my Dell Dimension 5100. I am running Windows XP Professional/MCE,
with Service Pack 2, Pentium 4 CPU (2.8GHz), and 3.00 GB of RAM.
I updated the drivers from Creative's installation cd, and ever since
I did that I have been getting, "The procedure entry
point_except_handler4_common could not be located in the dynamic link library
msvcrt.dll." AND "Error loading P17RunE.dll The specified procedure could
not be found.", error messages.
After some investigating of my own, I have found out that other
people are saying that it is the drivers from Creative that are bad. I
contacted Creative's technical support staff and they tell me it is Windows
software issue.
Can anyone help me to stop these error messages from popping up every
time I log on?
