Spelling Checker doesn't correct mistakes on the second run - why

Well, I'll try ... Word thinks you've already corrected that word, so
it doesn't think it's wrong. If you close the file (or maybe you have
to close Word?), when you open it again it may have forgotten the
changes made in the previous session and will be able to see the new
mistake.
 
Second run? Once you tell it to ignore then you run again and it ignores
those words?
 
In the Spelling & Grammar Options, click the button for Recheck Document.
