Spellchecking on replies

When I reply to an email, the outlook spell checker acts
as if it works, but it never detects a spelling error. I
know I can cut and paste my stuff into Word and check it
there, but that is so stupid. Is there a way to check
spelling in replies?

Converting to plain text does NOT fix the problem. There
is somthing going on that interferes with the ability to
read the text.

Any suggestions.

Thanks.

How do you have your replies set up - Include and indent? There is one
setting that specifies that replies will not be checked for spelling errors
but I do not have a handy installation of Outlook 2000 to verify.
