I have outlook express which came with my VAIO. I have
noticed that I don't have the capability to spellcheck
anything. It's like the program doesn't have spellcheck
loaded. Does anyone know where I can get spellckeck for
outlook express?

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002 & 2003 from the
Office
family for Intel PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in one of
these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:

1) This group deals with Outlook, not Outlook Express (which is part of
the operating system).

2) You're right - OE doesn't have a spellcheck loaded - because it
doesn't have one. It uses the checker from an Office application (or Word in
the Works Suite). If you do not have an Office application installed, you
will not be able to check spelling. Sony do not ship either Office or Works
Suite with their systems (only vanilla Works which doesn't contain Word, but
its own word processor, which is proprietary and cannot be shared).

In future please post all OE questions to either a group dealing with your
operating system, or one dealing with the version of OE you're running.

Thank you
