spellcheck & grammer

I don't seem to know how to do spell checking or grammer
checking when i'm writing a document. I thought this was
a very basic tool in computers nowadays. But I cant seem
to locate the icon. Can you help?
 
If using MS Word click Tools in the Menu bar then Spelling & Grammar.
Tools/Options/Spelling & Grammar lets you customise it.

These are functions, not of computers, but of particular pieces
of software.

What software are you using? If, for example, you are using
WordPad, which comes with Windows, it's an extremely primitive
word processor--really just a glorified text editor--and doesn't
have such facilities.

If you want a full-featured word processor, you need to buy one,
such as Microsoft Word, Corel WordPerfect, or StarOffice. Or
download the freeware OpenOffice.
