Spell & Gramer Check in Word Processoer & Word Pad

Every time I try to use spell check I get the Message " an
error has occored"
I can do a copy and past anad go on line and use my e-mail
spellcheck and it works just fine.
I am a new user and trying to to teach mysself. I think I
am to old for all this fancy stuff.
