All of a sudden when I go to use my spell checker it comes up with the
message --no longer available in this language ----what is this all about ???
I can't seem to find where it decided I need to speak another language today
??? More important how do I fix?????Another problem I have is how or why are
some of my files changing from Office Word to Note Pad??? I have no idea
other than files I have used for years are now noy accessible ???

under spelling tab, select a different language, apply and ok, hen select the language of choice and again apply and ok.
select an office word file and change the open with designation.

Have you tried repairing your installation of Office? Which edition of Vista
do you have installed? If its Ultimate or Enterprise, do you have any
language packs installed?

If you mean the spell check language in Windows Mail...
In the main program window (not in a compose message window)
Tools - Options - Spelling
select a different language than English, click Apply, then go back and
select English, and Apply.
Ok.

Files don't change, but perhaps the default program to open those files did.
What is the file extension, and do you have MS Word installed?
